Before the route: a concise preparation index

A few well-separated checks are easier to use than one crowded list.

Name the actual place

Begin with the intended waterbody and current official information. Manitoba’s angling resources are a starting point for the relevant rules. A general photo or our contact address does not identify access, permission or a fishing location. Keep the source tied to the destination.

Separate practical questions

Use individual lines for access, equipment, conditions and return. Do not let a complete-looking list hide unresolved details. This index is an organisational aid, not an assessment of a site. A clear unanswered point may be a reason to change the plan.

Keep the checked date

Save when and where information was consulted. Before another trip, open the source again rather than assuming nothing changed. A short index helps because it makes the preparation visible, not because it removes the need for judgement at the actual place.
